Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website at survivalknife.ai (the "Site") and, when generally available, the SurvivalKnife mobile application (the "App"), each provided by Atherton Labs LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company ("Atherton Labs," "we," "us," or "our"). By using the Site or the App you agree to these Terms.

1. About the product

SurvivalKnife is intended to be a general informational reference and on-device assistant for emergency preparedness, survival knowledge, and related topics. SurvivalKnife is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, or emergency services advice. In any emergency, call your local emergency number (such as 911 in the United States) and follow the instructions of qualified responders.

Important: Information provided by SurvivalKnife — including survival, medical, navigational, and preparedness content — is for general educational reference only. Do not rely on it as the sole basis for decisions affecting health, safety, life, or property.

2. Eligibility and acceptable use

You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction to enter into these Terms on your own behalf, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian. You agree not to:

Use the Site or App for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose;
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code or model weights from the App, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits;
Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Site or App;
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system, account, or data; or
Use the Site or App to violate the rights of others.

3. Intellectual property

The Site, the App, and all related content (other than third-party content, open-source components, and content you provide) are owned by Atherton Labs LLC or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Site for your personal, non-commercial use, and, when generally available, to install and use the App on devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and any applicable platform terms (such as Apple's App Store Terms of Service or Google Play's Terms of Service).

"SurvivalKnife" and the SurvivalKnife logo are trademarks of Atherton Labs LLC.

4. App stores

If you obtain the App through the Apple App Store, Google Play, or another distribution platform, your use is also governed by that platform's terms. To the extent there is a conflict between these Terms and the platform terms with respect to your use of the App on that platform, those platform terms control to the extent of the conflict.

5. Beta and pre-release

Some features may be offered on a beta, pre-release, or developer-preview basis. These features are provided "as is" and may change, be withdrawn, or contain bugs and errors. You agree to use them at your own risk and to provide reasonable feedback if requested.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE AND THE APP ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE OR APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR THAT INFORMATION PROVIDED IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR TIMELY.

7. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL ATHERTON LABS LLC, ITS AFFILIATES, OR THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SITE OR APP, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR APP WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

8. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Atherton Labs LLC and its affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Site or App.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site or App at any time for any reason, including if we believe you have violated these Terms. The provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Wyoming have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising under these Terms, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived under the law of your place of residence.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" above. If a change is material, we will provide reasonable notice (for example, by posting a notice on the Site or in the App). Your continued use after the change becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
